Busy Bee Cafe: Downtown Atlanta

RESTAURANT REVIEW:
There has been a lot of buzz on Busy Bee Cafe for quite a while. I got some emails from some readers that had read my Fried Chicken piece for Atlanta INtown Paper suggesting I try the chicken at this MLK institution. I had never heard of it even though it has been open since 1947. I had just moved nearby and was delirious from 2 non-stop days of unpacking. I went to my local Publix for some cleaning supplies and there sat Busy Bee across the street. I could not pass up the opportunity to grab something to eat because I was famished and curious. I ordered a chicken plate to go. The white meat plate included 2 sides (their list is endless and it was hard to choose) and cornbread and was a mere $9 bucks. I have to say this is some of the best bird I have had in Atlanta. Trust me, I have been eating a lot of fried chicken lately. I chose the macaroni and cheese and the fried corn as my sides. Everything was great. The corn was even better after I hit it with some hot sauce.
