I always crack up when Moon calls Tasty China, Frank Ma's and Canton Cooks the "Holy Trinity" of Atlanta Chinese restaurants but it is so true. While we have numerous Chinese restaurants representing an astonishing range of sub-cuisines, these three are my hands-down favorites and we are so fortunate to have such quality at our disposal.

While we have numerous Chinese restaurants representing an astonishing range of sub-cuisines, these three are my hands-down favorites and we are so fortunate to have such quality at our disposal.
I somehow ended up eating at all three this past week. Frank Ma's for a quick lunch of some chewy noodles with ground pork and dried bean curd, Tasty China for a late dinner after kicking it old school at the Smyrna Sparkles roller rink (you heard me right) and Canton Cooks for an impromptu lunch. I guess it was a comfort food week all the way.
I realized I'd never blogged about my old Cantonese standy-by so I figured it was time to put some photos up on the blog. Just a great place to eat and I am never disappointed. Just stay away from the lunch specials menu and you'll be a-ok.

Pan-fried salt and pepper squid: Sweet, crunchy and my favorite version in Atlanta.
Dry-fried (no sauce) beef chow fun as an homage to our pal: good version, small amount of grease and even better with a little dab of the killer chile paste served in a bowl at the table.
Wor Sue duck: I am not a fan of syrupy sauce on my Chinese food, but the pieces of crispy duck are so good.

Wish you had known/mentioned that they are closed on Wednesdays. My mouth was watering to try the beef chow fun and I was completely shattered when I arrived today for lunch to find out that they are closed on Wednesdays.
I'll try again sometime.
Definitely go back because the beef chowfun is the best I've had in Atlanta. Same for the Salt and Pepper squid as Bliss noted. Other two favorites are the spicy eggplant hotpot and thai hot and sour soup (it's not tom yum).
